Monday 29th January 2006

Hello there readers,

Hope you are well. I am ok I think.

Got up today. Went to work - normal 9 - 5 hours. Its been a strange day in some respects. My work colleague was back today although he disappeared for two hours to go to the doctors. I then had to give someone a lift to town and back. Well I havent had to do that for a while. I then finished a little early to get to university to see my supervising tutor. That was ok. Then once I got me car from the car park I drove home.

I came home, read some email. Then rebooted my computer so I could run a scan of the hard drive. Then found it was a program that was causing internet explorer to run slow so stopped it running. And it fixed the problem. Thank goodness for task manager.

I watched an episode of CSI NY on DVD and did 5 minutes studying. Thats it really.

Two websites for you today are; http://www.technorati.com/ and http://www.beonscreen.com/uk/index.asp - how to get access to TV shows. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thank you.

Sunday 28th January 2006

Hello there readers,

Hope you are well. I am feeling ok I think.

Rant: errrmmmm see the home office is in the mire again here in the UK. Time this government went. Celebrity big brother is over......hurrrray another boring show off the telly. Top Gear is back :) yippppeeeeeee. And new series of CSI and CSI NY start this next week. :) Cricket - England are abysmal...must be cause they are on Sky. lol Funny that... Footie....Wolves lost today... :( what a pile of rubbish. Still..... life goes on.

Must study though. :( The picture should it appear is another from Edinburgh last May.

since my last post here's how things have panned out.

Tuesday: Work on earlies and guess what....my work colleague is off sick - sent via text message. :( It was steady today. I came home, and watched an episode of CSI NY on DVD, had my tea, fed the cats. Read my email and surfed the web.

Wednesday. Work and was on earlies as all this week. My work colleague was off sick still and guess what - sent me a text message. Left work and came home via ASDA. Read my email and watched another episode of CSI NY on DVD. Fed the cats etc. Then went to bed.

Thursday, went to work, my work colleague's wife rang to say he was off sick still and wouldn't be in till Monday cause the doctor had advised him so. You can see my lack of being convinced in my tone. I mean how did he go from a headache on Monday afternoon to a tummy bug on Tuesday? Hmmmm.... Anyways came home, was reading my email and...knock on door and apparently the cat that was swapped for 3 kittens had been run over. I had to retrieve it from the road, good job its reasonably quiet and bury him in the back garden. A bit depressing in some respects but life goes on. I watched an episode of CSI NY and fed the cats, had my tea etc before going to bed.

Friday. More mundane again today. Work, work colleague still off sick.... it was quiet today. Came home via my mum's. Saw my sister, two nieces and nephew. My nephew told me how he had bit his tongue....had fallen over or something. I then came home cause I had a bit of wind. Read my email, watched an episode of CSI NY on DVD and half watched the telly but fully watched NCIS on channel 5.

Saturday....nearly done. Got up. Study today eventually once I had done some washing, filled the dishwasher, been to the tip and Waitrose.....yummy doughnuts lots of jam. :) I did managed to do some study by using a camping table in my bedroom to do some reading. It worked. And I surfed the web and read my email while i studied a little. Wish I had a laptop...oh I have at the ex-gf's mother's house....in Cardiff. I could have used it while I was studying with a wireless adaptor in it. Never mind. Not much on telly. Good job I was studying really.

Sunday. Well here we are, up to date at last. Phew. Its been a strange day. Havent done too much. Watched a couple of episodes of CSI NY on DVD and Top Gear on BBC2. It was good. Although the road building bit - was a bit dicey...ignore health and safety???? You are kidding...will have to bring that up at work. Jeremy Clarkson admitted to being a member of the RSPB. :) Now thats interesting rofl. Had my tea fed the cats, worked a little on my essay's introduction. Now its almost time for bed. Oh yeah I caught the BBC's tech program Click on the internet.

Monday 22nd January 2007

Hello there readers,

Hope you are well. I am seemingly ok today.

Football results were all over the place the weekend and noone I knew did too well on Challenge Lawro.

Got up this morning and went to work. On earlies this week. It was a steady day. My boss went off out for most of the day so it was almost an easy life rofl. Nothing really interesting happened apart from trying to sort out first aid refresher training. Which will mean rearranging a week I have booked off.

After work I drove to Merry Hill and went to HMV and exchanged the non existent DVD i had bought from their Dublin store. Apparently when I opened the case the DVD was nowhere to be seen. :( Still the good staff at the HMV store more locally changed it. :) I also spent the gift card I had christmas and got a couple of CDs. I then walked back to the car via Starbucks and got some coffee ground for the cafetiere this time and a Frappucino thing. Is there any difference between coffe ground for the filter maker thing and the cafetiere? Let me know if there is.

I ate my muffin before I then drove home. It was relatively easy drive. Got home, had my tea, read my email, checked the post etc. Watched and episode of CSI NY on DVD. Checked the DVD i just exchanged and phew it is in the case this time. :) Apparently it happened to a work colleague as well with a CD someone gave her for christmas. Who are these phantom cd/dvd thieves? If you know call crimestoppers they are a chuffing nuisance and a pest.

I am just filling in my blog and then going to bed.

Sunday 21st January 2006

Hello there readers,

Hope you are all well. I am ok. Been a funny old week. Still single :( Think I am a little behind on my uni work. And spent more than I should of this weekend. Silly me. Still....at least HMV will replace a DVD I bought from there shop in Dublin where there was no DVD in the case...

Rant: Cricket - what a pile. Football - is it me or is it getting boring now. I just don't find it interesting at all now. Think rugby is more interesting especially the six nations coming up. Ananova.com should really take smug prat Blair's picture off their front page....it is so offputting.
The motorist in the UK is so badly treated by this poxy goverment and their abuse of human rights rule to the right to the freedom to travel how we please. Ok I am not an plane fan(I believe these together with fossil fuel burning power stations to be the real cause of environmental problems. Trains suffer engineering work at the weekends so you need to change to a bus etc and buses are subject to abusive and sometimes criminal elements. So Blair and Brown stop this taxing of the motorist. Its digraceful and totally without foundation.

As for me and my week since Thursday.

Friday: Didn't do too much except do a little bit of studying. Watched an episode of CSI NY series 2 on DVD. Watched NCIS on channel 5 and a little bit of the snooker on BBC2.

Saturday: Ooops spent more today than i should. I got up after my usual bout of weekend reading. I read my email. Watched an episode of CSI NY on DVD. My youngest brother came round and did two hours in the garden, a little bit of tidying up and digging up some border to tidy it. I then went to Wickes and got two polythene sheets, 1 to cover the garden table and the other was to make a cover for the cubby hole in the outside toilet for the cats. Unfortunately the masking tape didnt hold it up. Spend number 1. My brother then wanted a lift upto town, and I said Merry Hill so he said yes. So I had to get some diesel first at Wall Heath esso garage as it was the cheapest...spend no. 2. Then at Merry Hill got some money from the cash point....this was spent in HMV...spend no 3 cause I thought I had a gift card in my wallet but it turned out they were the wrong ones so ended up paying cash. Then my brother wanted something to drink so ended up at Starbucks having a coffee and muffin, and I bought some filter coffee from there, which was four times the price I paid for the last lot from ASDA, Spend no 4. Then I drove him home via my house cause he wanted to borrow a game. I then attempted to do a little studying and then....i ended up going out in the evening with my cousin and another brother, to two pubs. The first called the Fieldhouse, which is currently to let just off Whitwick Bank nr Wolverhampton, and the second pub call the Holybush, somewhere near Seisdon/Trysull, where spend no.6 occured. I had had no tea so buying a round of drinks I also ordered some food - a t-bone steak. Yum. We stayed there a few hours playing darts. Before returning home. I then fed the cats and went to bed.

Sunday. Got up, walked to ASDA...spend no.7 and then came home and put a few loads of washing in. Even did the dishwasher, emptied the bin and washed it out. I have spent the afternoon studying after watching an episode of CSI NY on DVD and another while I ate my tea. And thats about it really.

The picture is a view of Edinburgh from the castle.

And the two websites this post are;

I look forward to hearing from you.

Good night readers.

Thursday 18th January 2006

Hello there readers,

Hope you are well. I am ok. I think, well its getting colder here.

Wednesdy. Got up, went to work. It was a steady day really. Loads to do. Came home, watched an episode of CSI NY on DVD from series 2. Read my email. Watched The Man Who Sued God on channel 5 which starred Billy Connoly as man living in Austrailia whose boat was blown up by lightening and whose insurance company wouldn't pay out cause it was an act of God. It was fairly funny and watchable which is more than I can say for many films.

Rant: Well I see RAF Cosford lost out to St Athan's in Wales. Hmmmm. The idiots in the labour party must be really desperate for the Welsh vote....well I believe the Welsh people are not stupid and should vote Plaid Cymru. :) That's obvious, but what the govenrment didn't let on was that it owned a stake in the company Qinetic(can't spell it right) which was part of the St. Athan's bid. As you can see it was totally biased to the Welsh bid. Therefore there was no fairness in the process at all. This government has shown it to be totally and utterly corrupt and the sooner it goes the better for the people of the UK. Wish I could afford to emigrate to Canada - till Bush invades it. Celebrity Big Brother should be taken off the air as well with immediate effect. It was ok for the first three series but now its just completely and utterly rubbish. If channel 4 fail to take it off air I would remove their licence to broadcast if I as in power.

Today: Got up and went to work. It was quiet today. Came home via ASDA. It was busy on the roads as one of them was shut cause of a fallen tree. Came home, read my email. Watched an episode from series 2 of CSI NY on DVD. Just finished watching Newsnight.

The picture is another one of Edinburgh overlooking the wall at the Castle.

The websites for today are. http://www.earthbrowser.com/browser.com/ - lots of information on planet earth including the weather. And http://www.elgg.net/ - social networking site for education.... sounds rubbish. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thank you for reading.

Tuesday 16th January 2006

Hello there readers,

Hope you are well. I am ok. A bit tired so off to bed in a min.

Well I see England cricket team won a match....was against New Zealand though. :( My local team Wolves are through to the next round of the FA Cup. :) Took a replay though. Another shambles at the home office. Time this government realised it can't do it and left.

As for my day... well I went to work. Uneventful day. Steady today. Came home via ASDA and cooked boiled potatoes, cabbage and pork chops for tea. Yum yum. Tried one of the supermarket's own brand smoothies as the other option was twice the price at least. :( Still.... I have read my email. Watched CSI NY on DVD another episode from series 2. Watched CSI on Channel 5. And Dont Die Young on BBC2. Its a good factual program. The presenter is quite fit too. Oh and congratulations to Hugh Laurie on his Golden Globe award for playing the irrepressible House.

The picture on your left is another taken from Edinburgh Castle last year. Again alterations of levels like brightness and that to enhance detail. Can't see any smudges on this one.

And the websites. http://spaces.live.com/ - something from msn. Think it is something to do with blogs. Need an internet domain name? Try http://www.1and1.co.uk Take a look and let me know what you think of these sites.

Thank you.

Monday 15th January 2006

Hi there readers,

No link today. Just a photo I have just enhanced the brightness and exposure on. Its a statue at Edinburgh Castle. I will attach it once I have been though my day.

Well on days today at work. Had printer training on the two new printers. Dropped off my surveys for my uni project lunchtime. Had to change one later as I had made a couple of glaring errors. Still all good fun. Work was steady today. Drove home via Sainsburys - get the nextar points anyway. :) Had oven chips, sausages and beans for tea. Done a little studying and watched an episode of CSI NY series 2. The one with the plastic surgeon and the blind girl.

Thats about it really. Now for the picture. Take a good look and let me know what you think. Thank you.

Sunday 14th January 2006

Hello there readers,

It has been a week since my last post. Havent been feeling too clever this week. Betterish now though. Hope you are all well.

Here has been my week so far.

Monday: Went to work. Was on earlies. It was quiet. When I finished I came home via the university. Can't remember doing anything after that....must have watched TV.

Tueday. Went to work on earlies again today. Had an admin meeting. Free brekkie. One work colleague in a nearby office went home after half the day as my work colleague told him maight have had measles. He looked it up then told his boss he was off home sick. He didn't have measles as it transpired. Still quiet. Came straight home today I think. I watched TV and read my email. Thats about it really. Oh and surfed the web.

Wednesday. Same as Tuesday really.

Thursday. Went to work. It was quiet again. Still not back to normal yet and my work colleague booked the day off just after midday. Go figure..although his wife is sick...but not that sick I suspect that he needs the day off. After all no-one ever takes me to the docs. Mind you I hardly go. I came home watched a little telly and surfed the net.

Friday. Went to work, it was quiet today although I did have other things at work to concentrate on. Ahhh of course was on the Environment committee for two hours as my colleague was also off today. He had booked this one in advance. Then the tedium type of job after lunch. Still...it pays the wages. When I got home I surfed the net and read my email and watched NCIS on channel 5 - series 3. :) And sort of half watched Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Don't think I watched anything else apart from the darts.

Saturday: Got up after my usual bout of weekend reading. Finished a photography book. I also once washed and dressed finished off Jeremy Clarkson's book the World According to Clarkson...it is very funny. Its basically lots of funny anecdotes of opinions and experiences of life he has had. Looking forward to the return of Top Gear in a couple of weeks. I also had today an headache and sore eyes....think it was sinus related. I got up watched bits of telly, surfed the web. Including looking for a couple of videos for my aunt. Found them on Amazon though they are in the states....errr need UK versions. Oh well. I went to ASDA for a pasta microwave meal thing and some bananas. Came home, watche the Road to Perdition on DVD and went to bed. The film was ok. Although you do find yourself every now and again looking at the clock. I then took it out the DVD plpayer to put the next one in I hadn't watched and guess what..........there was no DVD in the box of Shania Twain's Up Close and Personal DVD which I had bought from HMV in Dublin in Ireland last July. :( Not happy. Will have to ring HMV and see what they will do. Oh well. Oh I also watched bits of the darts matches. And I also redid the first of my uni project surveys.

And finally today. I got up after my usual reading. Read the first chapter of the new Ian Rankin novel The Naming of the Dead. Seems good so far. Rebus is good as are the SOCO's at crime scene he has had them called into...won't say anymore otherwise it spoils the first chapter....let's just say there's a bit of humour. I watched the Fantastic Four on DVD after a trip to Waitrose. Had a sausage sandwhich for dinner. Watched a bit of the snooker. Then studied and completed the 2nd survey. Now I can hand both in once they are printed. Did a little bit more studying around watching the 1st episode from CSI NY series 2 on DVD. Also really sore again today with sinuses and my eyes. Just had a bit of tummy trouble too although I think it was the pork belly slices two days past their sell by. Well they seemed ok. I had cabbage and boiled potatoes with them and some horseradish for the mash and apple sauce with the meat. Could have been these I suppose. Still.... apologies for not filling in my blog sooner.

I am still single...:( not happy about this at the moment. Hope it changes. Cricket....here we go again...another slaughter. Beckham...well if and his skinny waif of a missus are in the states they are out of our hair. The government....what a waste...they are well and truly digging a hole for themselves now....with a JCB....rofl. General election hopefully this year.....

And now for the websites. need help???? try http://www.allexperts.com/ or if you need a holiday with your camera try http://www.lakelandphotohols.com/main.html Take a look and let me know what you think of these sites.

Thank you for reading. Hope to post again soon.

Sunday 7th January 2007

Hello there readers,

Crikey, I havent posted since New Years Day. :( I kept forgetting. I am back again. Not too happy - still struggling to concentrate and settle down into my studies. Apart from work that is.

Well here is how my week went.

Tuesday. Went to work on days. It was a quiet day really. Everything worked though. Came home, read my email, watched the portable telly and probably watched and episode of House too. I should really make notes. Emailed Amazon asking where my new telly was. They rang me as I was driving to work and told me it was being delivered the following morning.

Wednesday. Went to work. It was a bit busier than the day before. Still all good fun. I came home and read my email, surfed the web and watched a bit of telly. The new one that had turned up in the morning. Took 5 minutes to get to get it work. Also got text from work colleague asking me to do his mornings as his wife was sick. Wasn't too impressed. Said yes anyway but how is he supposed to know she wouldn't feel better in the morning? Hmmmm

Thursday. Went to work on earlies today. Checked my bank account too as it was quiet. Was not happy, cause around lunchtime I had an argument with the bank about their websites poor information. On sat it said it took money for a bill. On Tuesday the bank put it back and unpaid bill and then took money for their own charges. How theiving is that. Got a text from work colleague about 5pm asking me to do his mornings again.....still how does he know she wouldnt feel better the following day? I saw that one. Think he will get his come uppance one day.

Friday. Well its the end of the week. On earlies again. It was relatively easy compared to the previous day when it was busy. Good job I have less than one day on average a year off sick innit? Oh well. I came home. Think I studied a little. Read my email and watched an episode of House on DVD. Thought I was going to play footie but I didnt cause my brother-in-law didn't phone. Oh well.

Saturday. Overtime hasnt yet materialised. Finished watching the second series of House on DVD. Did a little watching of the telly, surfing the web and a little studying. Well I did the acknowledgements for my report. I did got to ASDA in the evening. Hardly anything on the shelves really. No satsumas or bananas. Tesco's please open your new shiny big Wolverhampton store soon. Need somewhere they may actually stock produce I want. My cousin came round for a hour or so and ate his tea while Watching a bit of Star Trek 6. Thats it really apart from reading email. Oh yeah my two half-brothers were round today - the one to earn his ten pounds for doing the garden.... well cleaned out the outhouse and tidied it up as it was raining. Also showed them how to update the Sony PSP - helps if you have a wireless router. And they reminded me it can connect to websites. :) Use that in my Master's thesis.

Today: Well I have to say not much. A little reading, watched a bit of telly and did a little studying. A part of the bibliography was completed for my report and then the first bit of the introduction was completed . Read my email and surfed the web.

Two websites for you. The first I may have listed it already. http://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/ - as you can see its for the national geographic TV channel which unfortunately you don't get on freeview. And secondly, http://www.visions-of-science.co.uk/ - which hasn't been updated for a while and some of the pictures do not work. Take a look and let me know what you think of these sites.

Thank you for reading.
